PROFILE OF REV. J. T. ANERNYI.



BIRTH:      Rev. Jacob Terzungwe Aernyi was born on the 11th January, 1966. His parents were Elder Peter Aernyi Ajija JP and Late Rebecca Ngukpen Aernyi, all were dedicated Christians, at Tse Ikyaabashi, Tongov in Katsina-Ala Local Government where his parents were living. His parents left Tse Kyaabashi to Tse Gwaza, Kendev in Ukum Local Government of Benue State.



As an indigene of Buruku Local Government, his parents finally left Tse Gwaza to their home; which is Uga, Tombo of Buruku Local Government of Benue State.



EDUCATION:    Rev. J. T. Aernyi had his first ABC at CRI (Christian Religious Instructions) Igyo at Tse Gwaza in Ukum in 1972. During this time his teachers like Mr. Zungwe and the Late Shi-M-er Adela loved him so much for his singing ability and story telling; in as much as he was small he would be placed on a table for such performances.



Rev. J. T. Aernyi’s class mates this time were Mr. Simon Asorabo, Gbaior  Varvar, Terzungwe Shausu, Mbacirin Anza, Mbakoson Iortyom among others.



In 1974 Rev. J. T. Aernyi was transferred to NKST Primary School Wombo Ubaya in Katsina-Ala Local Government for his Primary one. Here in the school under Mr. Ihuwa, Rev. J. T. Aernyi’s mates were: Evangelist Philip Agaku, M-mem Wombo, Angavan Achikpi, Terhemen Aorabee, Tivlumun Tsenee, Shakyegh among others. Here in the School he was best in Bible knowledge, Social studies and Signing. His teachers loved him for his singing abilities, it was even this time that Rev. J. T. Aernyi experience his first scorpion sting. Rev. J. T. Aernyi completed his Primary Education at NKST Primary School Zaki-Biam in 1980.



Rev. J. T. Aernyi gained admission to Doy Secondary School Harga in Katsina- Ala Local Government but graduated at Mbapuun Grammar School Zaki-Biam. In the School He was the Choir leader with the F.C.S. under the leadership of Mr. Gbaeren Chiila. Simon Iondo, Mr. Abakume Uese among others.



Mr. Hans Senwua, now Dr. Hans Senwua provost of College of Education Katsina-Ala was the principal of the School, he would always like Rev. J. T. Aernyi to lead in the praises, and presentation of special numbers.



In 1985 after graduating at Mbapuun Grammar School, Rev. J. T. Aernyi was appointed the Tiv Choir Master at NKST Bosua.



In 1987, when Rev. J. T. got in to the Reformed Bible College (R.B.C) Harga for training as an Evangelist, he also took the mantle of Choir leader. Even at the Reformed Theological Seminary for a Bachelor of Theology Degree (B.TH). Rev. J.T. Aernyi had a PGDE with the Benue State University, Makurdi in 2003 and now undergoing a Bachelor of Arts Programme with the University of Calabar.



The music of Jim-Reeves, Michel Bolton, Panam Percy Paul, Gideon Unom, Ann Mker, Mike Jerusalem Lucky Dube gave him a lot of inspiration.



MARITAL STATUS:  Rev. J. T. Aernyi is married to a beautiful daughter of Chief Akor Wogba of Mbagesa in Anyiin of Logo Local Government. Though her parents are staying at Kendev, Ukum Local Government. Their marriage is blessed with six children.

MUSIC CAREER:       Though with inheritance of the singing genes from the parents who were very good singers, the artist got inspired by the aforementioned well renowned musicians. The words of the NKST Media Director Rev. S. T. Ikpilakaa during a course work at a Drama and film institute in Ille-Ife of Oshun State in 2007 also empowered the inspiration of the artist. From there Rev. J. T. Aernyi started producing background music for their Tiv movies, and particularly “Mbaihomov Mbaterankon” found in his first album titled ‘YESU KA MSURSHIMA’, “Oradiguve and Masekaven found in the second album titled “TERKUMA ISHUGHUN”.



Now Rev. J. T. Aernyi has produced five albums namely: Yesu Ka Msurshima, Terkuma Ishughun, Aondo Soo Tiv, Aondo Hemba and Iwanger nyor Tiv.



Most of the tracks are in Tiv language, this is because I love my language and wish to promote and preserve it. It is by language that a tribe is known. I also call on the Tiv young performing artist to join me uplift the language of our people for the younger generation. Let us show love to our language for it is our identity.



CHRISTIAN LIFE:      Born of a Christian family, Rev. J. T. Aernyi encountered Christ during his Secondary School times, since the School under Dr. Hans Senwua that time was highly religious. He is baptized, he was ordained a Minister on 14-2-97. He served the Church and Community in various aspects.

-        Director:     NKST Choir Ministry, the Post he held up to date.



MOVIE MAKING:      As a talented actor, Rev. J. T. Aernyi have acted so many Tiv movies; and usually takes negative rolls which is the direct opposite of his life style. This man is easy going, Jovial, humane and prudent. He is transparent in whatever you assign him to do. Some of the movies he acted includes:
